Founded in 2021, Portsmouth Independents Party has been formed by the first ever Independent Unitary Authority Portsmouth City Council candidate, Cllr George Madgwick. Our Party and ideology is simple; we are purely focused on putting the City of Portsmouth, and the residents, first. We believe local politics should be run by local parties. There is no need for national parties or their politics in our local council. Having national parties in our council means a huge lack of internal communication, a huge lack of talent within key areas (because there are other councillors more suited to roles they can't have because of the party they are in). Too much in fighting.
